Access codes for patient lockout
A patient will use a validation gate to prove their identity to the system. They enter some known information, such as date of birth or surname to prove their identity.
If the patient enters their information wrong five times in a row, the validation gate is locked. A 2FA access code will be sent to their email address to allow them to unlock the validation gate and try again.
If this happens to your patient, ask them to get the 2FA code from their email address and enter it into the validation gate. This will reset and give them another 5 tries.
The data fields required in the validation gate are decided by each organisation and are configured during implementation.
